Time to make: 10 minutes
Yields 1 pie crust
Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ cups of Squirrel Bait®
granola (you can substitute another Gatherer's® flavor if you'd prefer. Avoid using the flavors with chocolate, however).
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
Equipment:
- Ramequin, bowl or small pot
- Measuring cup
- Spatula
- Food processor
- Microwave or stove top
- A flat cup
For the crust:
- In a food processor, pulse the granola until it resembles sand, about 30 seconds. Pour in the melted butter and pulse a few times.
- Pour the mixture into a 9” pie tin. Using your hands or the bottom of a cup, flatten the crust into the tin, making sure to pack the crust tightly and evenly.
- Chill the crust for at least 1 hour and then it is ready to be filled. You can use instant pudding filling or make your own.
This versatile granola pie crust is the perfect base for a variety of fillings, making it a go-to recipe for any occasion. Pair it with a rich and creamy cheesecake for a delightful contrast of flavor pairings and textures, or use it as a foundation for a luscious chocolate mousse pie.
